Frequently Asked Questions
What technique do you use?
Dr. Vanessa may utilize a variety of adjusting techniques throughout your care so that your body can receive the adjustments it needs at the appropriate time and place that is most synergistic for the overall balancing of your nervous system. She is trained in Diversified, Gonstead, Thompson, Activator, and Webster techniques.
Is it safe to see a chiropractor during my pregnancy?
Research shows that prenatal chiropractic care contributes to a more straightforward labor with less pain and trauma for mother and child. It can improve the balance and alignment of the spine and pelvis and can provide a more comfortable pregnancy and delivery for mother and baby. By restoring balance to the nervous system through gentle and specific nervous system centered chiropractic adjustments, optimal function to the reproductive organs is restored thus supporting the needs of your baby throughout pregnancy. Dr. Vanessa is certified in Webster Technique from the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) and trained to cater to the unique needs of mothers.
Why should I bring my baby to a chiropractor?
The journey into the world places significant pressure and force on a baby. A study by Dr. Viola Frymann found that 90% of newborns experience birth trauma, with strain affecting the neck and cranial areas. Over eight years, Frymann examined more than 1,500 babies within the first five days of life—many within 24 hours. Her research showed that only 10% of newborns had freely mobile skulls, while another 10% had noticeable head trauma. The remaining 80% exhibited some level of cranial strain.

Birth, regardless of method, can be physically taxing. Even the most natural deliveries may result in undetected trauma. As Dr. G. Gutmann noted, 'The trauma from the birth process remains an under-publicized and significantly under-treated problem.'

If left uncorrected, this trauma can affect spinal growth and nervous system function. Since 65% of neurological development occurs in the first year, supporting your baby’s nerve health during this period is crucial. Dr. Vanessa has specialized training through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) to provide gentle, effective care for infants.
Do you accept insurance?
We do not accept insurance. The current health insurance system in the US is unethical and fraudulent in so many ways. Not accepting insurance allows us to work directly with you and your family so you can get all the care that you need and deserve. Being out of network also gives us the freedom to keep our prices lower than your standard co-pay. Dr. Vanessa would rather work for you than your insurance company.
